ENERGY WEEK 2018 21-25. May 2018, Belgrade



Energy week 2018 organized by CEDEF was part of the official EU Sustainable Energy Week program that the European Commission organizes every year during May and June across Europe.

Central European Development Forum CEDEF with the support of the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia, the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia, the Environmental Protection Agency of the Republic of Serbia and the global organization Energy Cities organized second Energy Week in Serbia.

Energy Week continued its life as a unique annual meeting point of relevant stakeholders in all spheres of sustainable development: state institutions, universities and eminent scientific institutions, responsible companies and manufacturers of advanced technologies, municipalities, the civil sector, as well as school and media representatives. This year's, second Energy Week 2018 was held in the period from May 21st - 25th 2018 in Belgrade.

This year, the focus was on expert conferences, expert meetings and workshops aimed at involving and gathering all stakeholders - and the wide and professional public - in the affirmation and implementation of green and clean energy, which is also the central theme of the Energy Week 2018 - Towards the green and clean energy.

1st DAY – 21st May 2018

Round table and the opening of the Energy Week: "Energy and Infrastructure - Serbia on the New Silk Road", Economics Institute Belgrade.

The introductory speech was given by the State Secretary in the Ministry of Mining and Energy, Prof. Stevica Deđanski, who opened the Energy Week 2018. On the topic - geostrategic influence of the new Chinese Silk Road: One belt - one road and the development potentials for Serbia and the region spoke: Ivan Nikolić PhD, scientific associate, President of the Scientific Council, Economics Institute, prof. Ana B. Bovan, President of CEDEF, Professor of Metropolitan University and WIBS, Paris, Ljubo Maćić, Economics Institute, Ratko Bogdanović, Economics Institute and prof. Katarina Zakić, Director, Chinese Center.






2nd DAY – 22nd May 2018

Training for energy managers of municipalities: How to achieve Energy Efficient Public Buildings in Serbia, MEPs club, Belgrade.

CEDEF continued the long-standing practice of organizing trainings for energy managers of municipalities of Serbia within the Network of Energy Managers of Serbia, MEMS. Within the Energy Week 2018, this training was conducted for more than 30 representatives of municipalities in cooperation with technology partners, Knauf Insulation, Viessmann and Rehau. During the training, the lecturers pointed to the relevant legal regulations, modern technologies and practical indicators of savings that could be achieved by applying energy efficiency measures in the building (building envelope: insulation and windows and heating and cooling systems) during the energy modernization of existing public buildings. Municipalities were provided with a complete - rounded image and all the mentioned aspects of implementing EE measures on the building in the best possible way, through the experience and expertise of the three leading global companies, each in its field. The lecturers were Goran Prolić - Knauf Insulation, Predrag Vasiljević - Rehau and Bojan Grujički - Viessmann.






Energy Cities - joining CEDEF and new municipalities to a global organization, MEPs club, Belgrade.

On the 15th anniversary of its founding, CEDEF became a member of an expert organization dedicated to the energy-efficient and sustainable cities of the world "Energy Cities". CEDEF and five municipalities of Serbia, through collective membership, confirm their commitment to sustainable development issues. The ceremony of joining was held at the Energy Cities Annual Assembly in April in Rennes, France. The cities of Kragujevac, Pozarevac, Zrenjanin and the municipalities Gornji Milanovac and Nova Crnja, together with CEDEF, became part of the network that includes over 1000 cities and municipalities from over 30 countries. The goal performance is to identify the needs of our citizens more directly and clearly, and to find the necessary funds more directly with European institutions and investors. By joining the organization, are met conditions to realize projects such as energy efficiency of buildings, public lighting, urban mobility, water and waste management, etc. The signing of the CEDEF Membership Agreement was held at the MEPs club during the Second Energy Week.





3rd DAY – 23rd May 2018

High level policy conference of Energy Week: „Energy and Climate Change“, National Assembly.

Regulatory conference dedicated to the goals and achievements of Serbia in the domain of energy and application of EE measures, as well as investments in this segment, marked the third day of the event. The main topics of the Conference were the Energy and Climate Change Strategy of Serbia and the EU, the Regulatory framework and EU Energy Community. Implementation of measures with examples of good practice of public companies such as Elektroprivreda Srbije, companies and civil sector was also highlighted. The role of the international financial institutions - investments in energy and energy efficiency were the fourth topic of the Conference. Speakers at the Regulatory Conference were: prof. Vladimir Marinkovic, Vice President, Assembly of Serbia, Goran Trivan, Minister, Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia, Zoran Predic, State Secretary, Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Ana B. Bovan, President of CEDEF, Professor of Metropolitan University and WIBS, Paris, Prof. Aca Markovic, Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia, Filip Radovic, Director, Environmental Protection Agency of the Republic of Serbia, Savo Bezmarevic, Executive Director for energy production in technical domain, JP Elektroprivreda Srbije, Nenad Vuković, President, Lobbyists Association of Serbia, Lambis Kunalakis, Minister Plenipotentiary, Economic and Commercial section, Embassy of Greece, Marijan Rančić, IFC, Ana Bachurova, EBRD.






4th DAY – 24th May 2018

IX CEDEF Energy Forum: „Green energy and future“, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade.

At the IX CEDEF Energy Forum: "Green energy and future" numerous expert and practical presentations pointed out the realized and planned projects in the field of green energy, energy management and sustainable development. The intention is to encourage even greater cooperation between academic and research institutions and economies in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Xella was the technology partner of the IX CEDEF Energy Forum.
The event was opened by the Vice Dean for Finance at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, prof. Cvetko Crnojević. Prof. Ana B. Bovan, President of CEDEF, Professor of Metropolitan University and WIBS, Paris, addressed the participants in front of the organizers of the manifestation. The speakers and topics at the Forum were: Aleksandar Đikanović, project manager, Xella on the topic "Energy efficient and sustainable approach in creating an energy efficient product", Bojan Bogdanović, operational manager of engineering, JKP Beoelektrane on the topic "Synergy of three levels of energy management - example of good practice", prof. Ljiljana Đukanović, Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade, who presented a student project that entered the finals of the prestigious competition "Energy Efficient Twist Box Project" together with students, Zorana Petojević, Assistant, Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade, Member of the Green Building Council of Serbia on the topic "Proposal of the optimization model for the selection of construction measures for the energy rehabilitation of the thermal envelope of the building" and Maja Barać Stojanović, Director, CEDEF on the topic "About the Energy Efficiency Handbook in residential houses and buildings, UNEP and the City of Belgrade "

Like last year, we are continuing the excellent cooperation we have with the EU Delegation in Serbia and the EU Info Center in Belgrade, where we will hold a series of lectures for primary and secondary school students on sustainable energy. This training will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018. The students will have the opportunity to hear useful information about the importance of using renewable energy sources and energy savings in each household during the Educational Workshop.






5th DAY – 25th May 2018

Education for students on Sustainable Energy, EU Info Center, Belgrade.

This year, CEDEF, with the support of partners JP Elektroprivreda Srbije and EU Info Center, organized a workshop and lecture on the topic of energy savings in households and the consequences of climate change for students of the primary school "Ivo Lola Ribar" from Novi Sad. More than 50 of the best students of this school had the opportunity to attend the lecture held by Predrag Đurković from the JP Elektroprivreda Srbije on the topic "Rational Consumer" and Ivan Jovanović, project coordinator, CEDEF on "How our behavior can save the Planet ".

CEDEF also provided tickets for students for Museum of Nikola Tesla and Museum of Science and Technology.
